Software Expiration

Is your software near or past its expiration date? Software isn't good for as long as it used to be. Security updates need to be applied regularly, and older software must be upgraded to continue receiving patches. Please check the table below and contact us for assistance.

Software	How to check	Oldest version patched	Recommendations
macOS	Version	13 until fall 2025	Upgrade to patched OS after backing up and reviewing compatibility. Install OS and security updates. Replace Macs which can't run patched OS.
Airport/Time Capsule	No recent updates	No recent updates	Replace. Last update was in 2019.
Other network devices	Check manufacturer website, e.g. Linksys or Netgear	Check manufacturer website	Replace network devices which aren't being updated.
Adobe Acrobat or Reader	Version	2020 until November 2025	Upgrade to patched version. Previous versions should be uninstalled. Install updates.
Chrome	Version	Latest version	Check version -- should auto-update. Older versions are dropped from support when the new versions are released.
Firefox	Version	Latest version	Check version -- should auto-update. Older versions are dropped from support when the new versions are released.
Java	Version	Latest version	Oracle strongly recommends that you upgrade to the most recent release and uninstall previous versions. We recommend backing up before uninstalling.
Microsoft Edge	Version	Latest version	Update to latest version.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote)	Version	2021 until October 2026	Upgrade to Office 2021 or Office 365.
Safari	Version	Latest version	Install OS and security updates. Replace Macs which can't run patched OS.
